St. Joseph’s Healthcare Hamilton has once again been ranked among the most research-intensive hospitals in Canada for 2020. The latest rankings were published today by Research Infosource.
As a medium-sized hospital, St. Joe’s was ranked at number 27 on the list of Canada’s Top 40 Research Hospitals, which includes large hospitals as well.
In terms of spending per researcher for medium-sized hospitals, St. Joe’s advanced to rank 7 – up from rank 8 in the previous year. St. Joe’s also held its place at rank 7 for research spending as a percentage of total hospital spending.
For Ontario hospitals, the data used for ranking are obtained from the Council of Academic Hospitals of Ontario (CAHO) and based on the 2019-2020 academic year.
The Research Institute of St. Joe’s Hamilton reported an increase in publication output of 8 percent, at 1215 research papers, from the previous year’s statistics.
