The Centre for Clinical Neurosciences (CCN) is a collaboration between St. Joseph’s Healthcare Hamilton and McMaster University. The CCN is a research hub for psychiatry and behavioural neurosciences that uses a multidisciplinary approach to better understand mechanisms sustaining mental health and further apply these to develop new treatments. In this way, the CCN bridges the gap between research and the clinic.

The Centre for Integrated Care (CIC) is an innovation incubator and accelerator powered by St. Joseph’s Health System. The goal of the CIC is to innovate healthcare by connecting people, systems, and best practices. Its mission is to integrate systems and remove barriers to advance people-centred care.

The Michael G. DeGroote Centre for Medicinal Cannabis Research (CMCR) is a multidisciplinary leader in medicinal cannabis research.

The CMCR is a partnership between McMaster University, St. Joseph’s Healthcare Hamilton, the Peter Boris Centre for Addictions Research, and the Michael G. DeGroote School of Medicine.

The Hamilton Centre for Kidney Research (HCKR) brings clinical and biomedical researchers together in one place where the focus is to improve the lives of patients with chronic kidney disease through leading-edge research.

For over 40 years, the Firestone Institute for Respiratory Health (FIRH) has been conducting research to increase our understanding of respiratory health and disease through collaborative basic and clinical investigations with the expectation of improving patient care.

The intent of the FIRH is to provide optimal patient care through clinical practice, translational research, and the training of health care professionals.

The Peter Boris Centre for Addictions Research (PBCAR) aims to conduct state-of-the-art research on the causes, consequences, and treatment of addiction.

Located at the St. Joe's West 5th campus – the state-of-the-art Juravinski Centre for Integrated Healthcare – the PBCAR serves as a nexus for faculty in McMaster's Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Neurosciences and collaborators at St. Joseph's Healthcare Hamilton and Homewood Health Centre. Although the interests in the PBCAR are diverse, our collective goal is to conduct innovative empirical research that pushes the boundaries of new knowledge and bridges the gap between science and practice.
