Prostate Cancer Symptoms

Early stages of prostate cancer may not elicit any symptoms. Symptoms can increase as the tumor increases in size and grows towards the urethra. Symptoms may include:

  • Difficulty starting urine flow
  • Difficulty stopping the urine flow
  • Decrease in size and force of stream
  • Urgency to urinate
  • Increase in frequency of urination
  • Unable to completely empty bladder
  • Pain or burning during urination
  • Blood in the urine
  • Painful ejaculation
  • Trouble getting an erection
  • Loss of bowel control
  • Blood in the semen

These symptoms may be caused by other medical conditions. Diagnostic tests will determine their underlying cause.
