Affiliation Process
All research-related accounts must be opened through The Research Institute. In order to open a research account, you must first submit the documentation required to become an affiliate of The Research Institute of St. Joe’s Hamilton. Affiliation is required in order to access and receive support for administrative services such as IT, finance, contract review, and The Research Institute Awards Program.
Obtaining affiliation is a simple 2-step process. Please complete the online Affiliate Application Form (via REDCap). You will also be required to submit your Canadian Common CV online here.
Canadian Common CV Detailed Steps:
- Log in to the Canadian Common CV site using your credentials
- Under the CV tab, select "Funding"
- Select "RSJH" as the Funding Source
- Select "RSJH Affiliation" as the CV type
- Click "Load"
- Click "Preview" to view a draft copy of your CV to check for accuracy and completeness only (DO NOT submit the draft copy)
- Click "Submit"
- Select "I agree" to give consent
- Click "confirm"
- RSJH administration will be notified automatically – you need not take any further action.
Affiliation Details
Since 2014, The Research Institute of St. Joe’s Hamilton has been an autonomous legal entity responsible for the oversight and conduct of all research performed at St. Joseph’s Healthcare Hamilton. This includes the administration of all financial accounts, contracts, training, and other areas of research.
Any researcher acting as a Principal Investigator (PI) or Local Principal Investigator (LPI) on a study conducted at St. Joseph’s Healthcare Hamilton must be affiliated with The Research Institute.
The affiliation process involves completing an online application and submission of a Canadian Common CV (see above). Once affiliated, the PI/LPI is able to conduct their research and access the services offered by The Research Institute (including Information Technology, Human Resources, Finance, Contract Review, Quality Assurance, and others), based on their affiliation category.
There are 3 affiliation categories: Affiliate, Endorsed Affiliate, and Associate:
