Last week, The Research Institute of St. Joe’s hosted the 2025 Winter Warmer event at each of St. Joe’s three main campuses. From Monday to Wednesday, staff from The Research Institute served complimentary hot chocolate and cookies to hospital staff, volunteers, and visitors alike to make their days just a little warmer while introducing St. Joe’s research to a larger community. Over these three days, the team served over 500 cookies!

The Research Institute hosts the Winter Warmer annually during the week of Blue Monday, which typically falls on the third Monday of January and is said to be the unhappiest day of the year. This year, the week of Blue Monday was also a particularly cold one, with some of the lowest temperatures of 2025 so far! Our team was grateful for the opportunity to warm people up on a day when they needed it most.

The Research Institute will be holding the annual Midsummer Mixer community outreach event this summer, but not before participating in the Paris to Ancaster: A Ride for Research bike race. Through these events and more, the Institute is continuing to support the St. Joe’s community and increase awareness about the important research happening here.

Thank you to all the team members who helped make the 2025 Winter Warmer such a success!
