The Research Institute of St. Joe's Hamilton is excited to announce that Sarah Howe will be taking on the newly created role of Chief Operating Officer (COO), effective immediately. The restructuring of her leadership role from Executive Director to COO will support the implementation of our Strategic Research Plan and future directions for our Institute.
Sarah joined The Research Institute of St. Joe’s as the Executive Director in October 2021. Since then, she has been a key driver of many new strategic initiatives and growth opportunities. Sarah oversaw the creation of our first Strategic Research Plan, the work towards implementing a new research management system, redevelopment of our website, creation of the Innovation and Partnerships team, and so much more.
Sarah’s new role as COO will formalize her broadened duties that she has developed over the past three years. This includes operations, strategy creation and implementation, as well as innovation leadership across both The Research Institute and the Hospital. The shift will enable greater engagement with senior external stakeholders, as well as the ability to take a leadership role in the provincial and national research and innovation agenda.
Ultimately, Sarah’s new role will allow The Research Institute to have a bigger impact both internally and externally.
Please join us in congratulating Sarah and wishing her the best in her new role as Chief Operating Officer of The Research Institute of St. Joe’s Hamilton!
